This weekend we ventured out to Sweetwater Creek. This is one of our favorite hikes because the state park is gorgeous and the hike is challenging. We were planning to do the Red and White trail loop, which is 5 miles, and it would take our family 3ish hours to finish, which is perfect for a weekend! However, plans changed in the field as the littlest of us fell, scraped her knees, hands, and legs, and just like that, her motivation for a long hike dwindled. We took the Green trail shortcut and finished our adventure at 3.2 miles, and 1 hr 23min. moving. The dog wasn’t on her best behavior either, she demanded a piggyback ride at the end ๐
Head to Sweetwater Creek if you like a fully immersive experience surrounded by the sound of the rolling water, native birds, summer crickets, and all kinds of terrain, from a flat easy peasy Green Trail to the steep, rocky, and uneven Red Trail.
